Bio

Tamara Cuypers obtained the Master in Music and Music Education diploma's from the Royal Conservatory Ghent, Belgium, and continued her studies at Arizona State University, where she obtained the Master of Music (MM) and Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) diploma's. She has been Teaching Assistant to Dr. Robert Spring at Arizona State University from 2000 to 2002. Tamara performed in Belgium, Canada, the U.S., Mexico, Spain, Switzerland, France and Sweden and became finalist of three international competitions (among them the ICA young artist competition).

She has been chamber music and clarinet coach at summer courses in Belgium (BCA) and Switzerland (Morges).  Tamara founded the Aram Ensemble in 2002 and the Táman Trio in 2005.  Her first full CD Bajadillas was released in june 2009.

At present, she is a pedagogical coordinator and chamber music coach at the Ostend Music Conservatory in Belgium.

Tamara Cuypers behaalde in 2002 een Doctor of Musical Arts diploma in clarinet performance aan Arizona State University.   Sindsdien is ze vooral actief in kamermuziekverband (van klassiek tot hedendaags). Ze trad op in Europa, Canada en in Noord- en Zuid Amerika. Daar speelde ze zowel in orkesten, kamermuziek en als soliste. Ze werd tijdens haar studies finaliste van drie internationale wedstrijden (o.a. met het klarinetconcerto van Aaron Copland).  Momenteel geeft ze kamermuziek, instrumentaal en vokaal ensemble aan het Stedelijk Conservatorium van Oostende. Tijdens de zomermaanden is en was ze regelmatig kamermuziek- en klarinetcoach op verschillende zomercursussen in Zwitserland (Morges) en België (BCA).  In juni 2009 verscheen haar eerste full CD met werk van Frank Nuyts.
